I started on the first front-end libraries project. It’s a simple quote generator that allows you to press a “new quote” button to display a new quote.
I have finished the last React and Redux challenges at Free Code Camp! Tomorrow I will be able to test my skills on the Front End Libraries projects.
Now that I’m not so burnt out, I have pinpointed the source of all this React and Redux overwhelm as stemming from all the tutorial hopping I’ve been doing.
I’m still struggling with learning Redux, but I’m so determined. As with learning anything complex, the key is to aim for one small piece at a time.
I hit a bit of a snag in learning Redux with the Free Code Camp challenges. So now I am taking a step back to begin a Redux course at Lynda.com and will supplement that with additional reading.
Today I learned about conditional and dynamic rendering in React, as well as how to render React on the server to improve SEO and user experience.
During my coding adventures today, I completed another 13 React challenges and learned more about React components, hooks, and styling JSX elements.
Today was spent working my way through some of the React challenges at Free Code Camp as I continue working towards the Front End Libraries certification.
I completed the ‘React for Web Designers’ course today and claimed my certificate. Tomorrow I’ll be moving back into the React section at FCC.
