Can you believe September is almost over?! Summer has said goodbye, hockey preseason is almost over, the nights are getting colder, and believe it or not, the busy months are just beginning. At least for me, anyway!
That’s why I have decided to take a few minutes to share some of the wonderful, amazing things that you can look forward to next month (and basically everything that I am going to be spending every waking moment on). October is going to be one helluva good month for Blissful Lemon and Color My Life.
Pst! Did you catch some of the spoilers and sneak preview of my schedule on Instagram this morning? Follow me over there to see more sneak previews, affirmations, and random pictures of my dogs. Because, why not? 😉
Get Ready For Good Food
I love experimenting and creating new tasty concoctions in the kitchen. Unfortunately, I have never done much in terms of writing my recipes down so I can re-create them again in the future. I have lost quite a few delicious creations over the years, including some of the most delicious stuffed pork chops and the best cocktail I have ever tasted.
So, I’m going on a mission to try to recreate these lost recipes, along with so many of my favorites. Starting next month, I am going to be creating and sharing some of my favorite recipes every Saturday. I’ve got everything from re-creating my favorite birthday dinner (it’s probably not what you think) to quick and easy meal ideas for the lazy-at-heart (like me!)
Can you tell how excited I am?
I Have Another Reason To Be Excited — A New Blog Schedule!
I know I’ve been really bad about sticking to an actual blogging schedule, despite my best efforts. But, in my defense, I was still trying to figure things out. Over the past month, I have been experimenting with different schedules, and I think this one is here to stay, at least for a while.
So, as long as nothing changes, you can look forward to new posts every Wednesday, in addition to the new Saturday recipe posts.
We’re Gearing Up For National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo)
November is National Blog Posting Month, a month-long challenge that encourages participants to blog every day for the entire month. I will be participating in NaBloPoMo this year, and I think I’m going to be doing a few exclusive giveaways to other participants. I have the next month to iron out those details, plan my writing prompts, and start any research that needs to be done.
Any posts that correspond with NaBloPoMo will be tagged in the future. If anyone else is participating or has participated in the past, I’d love to hear from you!
I think that just about wraps it up for Blissful Lemon.
So, what about Color My Life? How About New Weekly Printables!
In case you missed it this month, three new bullet-journal style printable planners have made their way into the CML store. I have taken a break with this for the past few weeks while I make a few modifications to them and work on a few other things. But next month, I’m going to continue releasing a new printable every week. My plan is for these to all correspond to NaBloPoMo and blog planning in general, but that may change a little depending on what I feel like creating.
As with everything, I really have to love the end result to want to share it.
The Etsy Shop Is Reopening
As much as I love the CML website and store, I haven’t been able to do much with it in terms of opening up to international customers. I’ve done plenty of research and planning to get things set up, but I just don’t have the time or resources to dedicate to making that happen right now.
So, I am re-opening the Etsy shop by the end of this week, and I’m going to be adding the new printables and other products in the upcoming weeks, as well as any new releases as they come. That means you will have another option for purchasing new items.
With that said, don’t forget about our normal shop because I may release a cmlplanner.com exclusive every now and then, especially if it is a cheaper item that wouldn’t be feasible with the normal Etsy fees.
The Freebies Are Coming, The Freebies Are Coming!
Another great reason to bookmark the CML shop is a great new lineup of freebies that are coming every Friday in October. If you saw the Instagram post earlier today, you may have noticed I kept the first two items visible in my planner. This includes a pumpkin spice sampler of graphics as well as some super adorable Halloween inspired prints that I cannot wait to show you.
I don’t want to give anything else away, but if you follow on Instagram, I may share a few more spoilers in the future.
The CML Creative Asset License Is Changing (And A New Graphics Set Is Coming)
It has been a few months since the release of the Watercolor Daisies graphics set. While the response to the graphics has been largely positive, I decided to simplify the license terms prior to the release of any graphics on Etsy. Basically, I just want to make things easier for you. By the end of next week, you can expect to see new license terms on the CML website. Then, the following week, you can also expect to see a brand new graphics set on the website and in our Etsy shop.
Again, I don’t want to release too much information on this yet, but I can tell you it has something to do with Halloween and it’s going to be pawsitively purrfect.
And Because That’s Not Enough…
There is one more release planned for Color My Life next month. I haven’t released any information on this yet, so you all will be the very first to know. In October, you will see the very first Printable Bundle release from Color My Life. Unlike the weekly printables, these are going to be several pages of corresponding printable items, from prints to planners, at an almost unbelievably low price.
Follow Me On Social Media!
I’m sure I probably missed something, and for obvious reasons, I intentionally left quite a few details out from this October preview. If you want to know more and get exclusive access to spoilers and new information in the upcoming weeks, be sure to follow me @ablissfullemon on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Oh, and I am also on Pinterest (but you won’t find many spoilers there). You can also follow Color My Life @cmlplanner on all of those. You’ll be able to get a firsthand look at what I am working on and whatever lettering challenges or art I happen to be doing at the time.
Here we are, just a few weeks in, and I have some important updates to share. Some of you may have noticed that there was no post last week, nor was there a new weekly printable at Color My Life.
I have to apologize. When I set these goals for myself this month, I really want overboard. And to be honest, I not only gave myself too many projects, but I also failed to account for the fact that I would be job searching at the same time. Thus, I have fallen severely behind and really don’t have a solid plan for getting back on track.
I am only human. Please bear with me as I try to figure everything out.
