NaBloPoMo 2017 Day 13: Mud Man Is Missing!

Less than a month after moving to Ohio from sunny, far-too-warm-and-humid Georgia, Andrew and I found a small figurine caked in mud and who knows how many months or years worth of dirt and grime. Mud Man, as he was so aptly named, took up residence on our deck railing, where after a few rain storms, he began to look at least halfway decent.

June 28, 2013 · We found this guy on our deck one day, completely covered in mud. Now that it has rained, it looks like mud man is drowning on the railing.

Within just a few weeks, Mud Man became an important member of our family. We began going on adventures, cooking together, and even the dogs took a liking to him.

Of course, that’s not to say that Mud Man was always happy. There were a few times when things just didn’t go his way, like in 2013 when he forgot to put his car away before the first “big” snow storm of the winter.

November 12, 2013 · Mud Man is really mad at himself for forgetting to put his car in the garage before it started to snow.

He also got into a bit of a tiff with a new arrival, Sir Lionel the Stone Knight, on more than one occasion.

August 3, 2013 · Sir Lionel the Stone Knight was trying to protect the sticky buns from Mud Man, but that corncob skewer seems to have gotten the best of him. I’m sure he will be fine later but for now he must rest.
September 30, 2013 · A few people have been asking me how Mud Man and Sir Lionel the Stone Knight are doing after the sticky bun debacle. A few days ago, Mud Man found his car out by the back fence after it had been buried by a leafslide. He was happy about this – until Sir Lionel caught wind and decided the car should be his since he is missing half a leg and the Spider-man prosthetic didn’t quite fit right. They are back in timeout now.

Now, Mud Man has gone missing! I am searching frantically, trying to find him so we can go on another adventure together. I’d love to take him to the Festival of Lights in Cincinnati this year, but I have to find him first. It has been a few months, at least, since I last saw him. I know that there is little you can do to help, but I ask that you keep us in your hearts and thoughts as we continue this search.
