100 Days of Code: Day 36
100 Days of Code, Round 1
Goals For Today:
Today has been a really productive day. I was not expecting to start and finish this portfolio project in one day. I thought for sure I would have to finish it tomorrow, but I am getting faster and better at this, so it didn’t take nearly as long. I even had a relatively big issue with my code and was able to resolve it in plenty of time to submit the project today.
If you follow me on Twitter, you know that today did not go exactly as planned.
This portfolio project is pissing me off. I keep getting a 404 error on Codepen when I try to run the tests. After some debugging, I found out it’s only when I add position:fixed; to my CSS for my nav. It’s a requirement. 🙄 But even if it wasn’t, I would still want to know why.

In any case, I found the problem relatively quickly once I took a step back and really started examining the code, line by line. I’ll admit, it was frustrating, but these things do happen from time to time, and it’s always a relief when they are finally sorted.
I took a very simple approach to this portfolio project. Since I already have a portfolio, I just approached it as being a portfolio for just my Codepen projects and pens.
I chose to use a placeholder graphic in my project tiles, rather than spending a lot of time sourcing or creating images. This wasn’t really laziness, per say, but just not wanting to deal with uploading several temporary images to my own server since I am not going to spring for a Codepen pro membership (and uploading images is not possible with a free plan).
In any case, as with the other FCC projects, you can view the code and a preview of the site below, or view the full page in another window/tab.
